Villakoirien erkkari, VSP-veteraani - Poodle Speciality Show, BOS-veteran

Perjantaina pakkasimme kolme koiraa ja kolme ihmistä Volleen ja suuntasimme kohti Lahtea. Määränpää oli villakoirien erikoisnäyttely, joka oli sunnuntaina. Yövyimme Miian eli Pimun kasvattajan luona (Kiitos kaikesta!). Lauantai vierähti jutellessa, koiria valokuvatessa sekä Mortin pesun ja Pimun saksimisen parissa. Myös Pimun veli Bruno kävi näytillä ja kuvattavana. Iso poika on Brunosta kasvanut!

// On Friday we packed three dogs and three people in our car and headed towards Lahti. Our goal was Poodle Speciality Show on Sunday. We stayed at Miia (Pimu's breeder) and spent Saturday in talking, photographing dogs, washing Mortti and grooming Pimu. We met also Pimu's brother Bruno. He has become a big boy!

Sunnuntaina suuntasimme sitten näyttelypaikalle. Minulle pukkasi stressi kun huomasin, että Pimun ja Mortin kehät saattaisivat mennä melkolailla päällekkäin eikä muita handlerehdokkaita ollut (Miialla ja Reetalla ei kuulemma ollut kehäkelpoiset vaatteet, höh). No, kävin sanomassa sitten Mortin kehällä, että se rodun ainoa veteraaniuros on paikalla, mutta olen mahdollisesti toisen koiran kanssa sen kehässä ja tulen juoksujalkaa.

// On Sunday we went to the show area. I was a bit stressed when noticing that it was possible that Pimu and Mortti should be in the ring at the same time and we had no other handlers (Miia and Reetta said that their clothing was not for a ring, blah).

Pimu meni kehään ensimmäisenä valionartuista. Tuloksena VAL H, joten meidän kehässä oleskelu loppui lyhyeen. Ehkä H:n arvoinen Pimun arvostelu ei ollut, joten ehkä herra tuomari ei vain tykännyt nyöriturkeista. Mikä kuitenkin tärkeintä, meillä oli Pimun kanssa kivaa kehässä ja toimimme ihan yhteistyössä. Pimun arvostelu (tuomari Tom Isherwood): "Small bitch. Head could be more refined. Short back. Tail too curled. Need more angulation. Lovely temperament. Shown well." 

// Pimu was the first champion female to enter the ring. She gained Good so that was a short trip. Her critiques was probably not worth a Good so maybe mr Judge disliked corded coats. But the most important was that me and Pimu had fun there and we co-operated well. Pimu's critiques (the judge was Tom Isherwood): "Small bitch. Head could be more refined. Short back. Tail too curled. Need more angulation. Lovely temperament. Shown well."

No, eipä ollut minulla sitten kovin kova kiire Mortin kehälle. Morttia kehään viemään lähtiessäni sanoin siinä, että menenpä hakemaan sen toisenkin H:n, niin päästään sitten lähtemään pois. Mortti esiintyi Mortiksi vallan mainiosti, se juoksi reippaasti pää pystyssä kuin mikäkin näyttelykoira. Seisotin sen vapaasti, koska tiedän, ettei se tykkää yhtään asettelusta. Yllätys oli kuitenkin suuren suuri, kun tuomari Melanie Harwood arvosti sen ERI:n arvoiseksi. Mortille siis VET ERI, VEK 1 ja matkalippu kisaamaan ROP-vet -kehässä. Narttuveteraani oli parempi, joten Mortista VSP-veteraani. Meidän huvimatkalle mukaan lähtenyt 10-vuotiaamme sai komean ruusukkeen ja hienon pokaalin kotiin tuomisiksi! Mortin arvostelu: "In lovely condition for his age, masculine head & expression. Good strong teeth. Pleasing in body, his topline sloped with age. He uses himself well in the move. Full of poodle spirit." Ehkä Mortin näyttelyura ei loppunutkaan tuohon?

// So, finally I wasn't in hurry to get Mortti to the ring. When taking him there, I said that let's get the other Good and we are off from here. Mortti did it well in the ring, he ran nicely with his head up. I let him stand free because I know he doesn't like anyone moving his legs. But I was really surprised when the judge Melanie Harwood gave him an EXCELLENT. As he was the only veteran male, he also won his class and was to compete about BOB-veteran. The female-veteran was better, so Mortti was BOS-veteran. Our 10-year-old dog, which we took with us just for fun, gained a big rosette and a nice trophy to take home! Mortti's critiques: "In lovely condition for his age, masculine head & expression. Good strong teeth. Pleasing in body, his topline sloped with age. He uses himself well in the move. Full of poodle spirit." Maybe that wasn't the end of his show carrier?
