Olen tehnyt päätökseni Pimpulan turkkia koskien: siitä tulee nyt vanhempiensa tavoin nyörivillakoira. En jaksanut ajatella, että harjaisin sitä nyt useamman tunnin, että saisin takkulaatat aukeamaan, pesisin heti perään, föönaisin ja toistaisin ainakin pesun ja föönauksen vähintään kerran viikossa arvaamattoman kauan. Harjan asemesta tartuin eilen mäntysuopapulloon, vaahdotin Pimun sillä kahteen kertaan, huuhtelin aina välissä, vaahdotin vielä kerran 1All systemsin hoitavalla shampoolla, huuhtelin, levitin turkkiin jotain Summerwindsin hoitoainetta ja huuhtelin. Sitten kuivaksi rutistelua, Pimpula kuistille trimmauspöydälle. Työstin turkkia turboföönillä ja saksilla. Leikkasin takkulaattoja saksilla nyörin aluiksi ja puhaltelin irtoavia karvoja pois föönillä ja samalla kuivasin turkkia. Kovin montaa nyöriksi laskettavaa turkissa ei vielä ole, mutta jospa ensi kesänä Pimpulalla olisi sen verran turkkia, että näyttelyihin olisi taas asiaa.
// I have made a decision about Pimu's coat: she will become a corded poodle like both her parents. I could not imagine me to brush her for hours to get rid of the tangles, right after that wash and blow dry her. And then wash and blow dry her at least once a week for who knows how long. In stead of brush I used tall oil soap, let the coat foam, then I rinsed the coat and did that again. After tall oil soap I used proper dog shampoo once, rinsed it off and used balsam. I dried Pimu with a towel and took her out on the grooming table. There I cut with scissors the huge tangles to finer cords and blew the coat. There are not many cords in Pimu's coat yet but I hope that next summer Pimu will have enough coat to enter the dog shows.
