Katsaus viisiviikkoisten pentusten kuluneeseen viikkoon. Vieraita on käynyt pentuja tapaamassa jonkin verran, mm. Mortti ja Tito kävivät murisemassa pennuille oikein kunnolla. Tässä vaiheessa voi todeta, että Leya on kultaa pentujen kanssa, se on hienosti ottanut sen roolin, mikä Hessulla oli Leyan ja sisarustensa elämässä niiden ollessa (pikku)pentuja: Leya viettää aikaa pentujen kanssa, kun Pimulla menee hermot maitobaarissa roikkujiin, Leya pyytää pentuja leikkiin ja on niille roolimalli isojen koirien käytöksestä. Tänään pennut ulkoilivat ihkaensimmäistä kertaa ja ulkoilussakin Leyalla oli suuren suuri rooli:

Pentujen pesu ja madotus jäävät nyt viikonlopulle, millään en ole pesua ehtinyt viikon aikana tehdä. Sen sijaan alkuviikosta pestiin Mortti ja Tito, jotka Leyan tavoin, viettävät pian synttäreitään. Myös Leya ja Yoda on tarkoitus pestä pikimmiten. Eikä pesu tekisi pahaa pentulaatikossa ryvettyneelle Pimullekaan... Kuka antaisi aikaa?
// Washing, grooming and de-worming the puppies will remain for the weekend; I just hadn't time to do them during the week. Instead in the beginning of the week Mortti and Tito were washed, they as well as Leya, will celebrate their birthdays soon. My aim is to wash also Leya and Yoda soon. And it wouldn't harm Pimu either, her coat has got dirty in the litter box. Who would like to give me more time?
Pennut syövät nyt kolme kertaa päivässä kiinteää ruokaa: aamulla ja illalla lihaa, päivällä kuivamuonaa. Lihoista on maisteltu nautaa, possua, vom-täysiravintoa (tämähän on meidän koiriemme normaaliruoka), broileria, poroa ja hirveä (viimeksi mainitut luiden muodossa).
// Puppies eat solid food now three times a day: in the mornings and evenings meat and in the daytime dog food. They have tasted beef, pork, vom-meat mixture for dogs (this is the norma food for our dogs), chicken, elk and reindeer (the last ones in bones).

Tänään pupsit perinteisesti kuvattiin ja jopa punnittiinkin. Kaikilta leikattiin kynnet (en edes muista monesko kerta tämä jo on) ja viisiviikkoispäivän kunniaksi tutkiskelin myös kivestilannetta ja ainakin tällä hetkellä kummallakin pojalla on pallurat ihan paikoillaan!

Also their nails were cut (I just can't remember how many times I have already done it) and because it was their five-week-birthday, I checked the testicles of the male ones and yes, at least at the time, both the boys have them in the right place!

Ensi viikolla pennuilla on edessään se ensimmäinen pesu, kuivaus, konetus kauttaaltaan ja osaa ainakin pitää jo saksiakin. Jatkamme ulkoilua (toivottavasti sää sallii!) ja saamme monta vierasta. Pennut madotetaan ja mikrosirutuskin pitää hoitaa ja sitä myötä rekisteröintikin.
// Next week the puppies will have their first proper grooming, including wash and all. We'll continue going out if the weather lets us to do it and we'll get many guests. The puppies will be de-wormed, microchipped and also we have to take care of their registration.
